Shingle Types

When talking about shingles, most people tend to think of the "composition" variety; the kind that are inexpensive and easy to repair or replace. There are a few other kinds of shingles, however, each with its own set of benefits.


Wood shingles, for instance, have a more natural look than composition shingles. They're also easy to repair, and can last between 30 or 50 years if maintained well.


Tile shingles come in many different colors and styles. They're also fireproof, and very easy to maintain.


Slate shingles might be the best looking shingles in the bunch. These shingles are also fireproof, and can last a very long time.


Metal shingles, whether they're copper, aluminum, or steel, can last up to 50+ years. They're extremely low maintenance, and can be styled to look like other types of shingles (wood, slate, etc).

New Project Images

We took a few photos of a project we completed for a customer, and we'd like to share them with you.

The project is a second-story deck. In the first two photos, you can see the initial structure going up. By the third photo, the rungs and railings are up, and by the last photo, you can see the stairway that leads to the ground has been completed.

Spray Foam Installation

In the last post, we talked about what spray foam insulation is. Perhaps you've decided that this type of insulation will be best for your home, or maybe you're not sold yet.

For those who aren't completely convinced that spray foam insulation is the right way to go, we've embedded this YouTube video for you to watch. Here, you can see a company from California actually installing spray foam insulation using a sprayer. Take note of how the spray foam expands a few seconds after being exposed to the air, and how the expanding foam is able to fill out empty areas.

What is Spray Foam?

Many different types of home insulation exist, such as loose-fill, batt and blanket, and rigid board. A fourth type -- one that Integrity Exteriors &  Remodelers specializes in -- is called spray foam.

What is spray foam, you ask? Spray foam is a mixture of Isocyanate and resin. When sprayed out of a gun, it can expand to over 100 times its original volume. When a home has spray foam applied to it, the home can be insulated as much as 50% better than with traditional home insulation types. Spray foam is cost effective, and can help you lower your heating and cooling bills, which is why Integrity is proud to offer spray foam insulation services to our customers.
